
Local #49 was chartered in 1953 and today has approximately 900 members. Members can take advantage of a variety of benefits, including the Sheet Metal Workers’ Defined Contribution Plan and Nation Pension Plan as well as classes in sheet metal, welding, computer aided drafting, test and balance, HVAC service work and OSHA safety training. There is also a four-year training program for inexperienced apprentices, which allows an apprentice to elevate to Journeyman status in four years. Journeymen-upgrade classes are also available.
